Quarterbacks

Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens– Albeit against the awful and incompetent Buffalo Bills, Flacco looked rejuvenated in this new look Ravens offense. He had 236 yards and three touchdowns en route to 21.74 points in PPR leagues. He finally has some legit weapons to play with in Michael Crabtree, John Brown and Willie Sneed. He could fill in as a spot starter depending on his matchup and provide stability for you.

Ryan Tannehill, Miami Dolphins– It seemed like just a couple years ago, we were talking about Tannehill as a sleeper and on the come up. He threw for over 4,200 yards and 24 TDs in 2015. The talent is still in there somewhere, he just cannot seem to stay healthy. He had a decent game against the Titans scoring 15.6 points and throwing for 230 yards and two touchdowns as well as two picks. Kenny Stills is good and Danny Amendola is a good receiver out of the slot. Keep an eye on the health of Davante Parker. Reports show that he is listed as questionable for their upcoming game with the Jets but if Parker can suit up, Tannehill needs to be owned.

Running Backs

Phillip Lindsay, Denver Broncos- I had zero clue who this was until Monday morning, but the Broncos seem to like him. He made them look smart for trusting him with 18.2 points on 17 touches, 102 yards and a touchdown. He might have carved out a role as their passing down back. You know what that means. PPR owners should be sprinting to the waiver wire if you are thirsty for running back help. He has a easy matchup against the Raiders. He’s worth flex consideration.

Marlon Mack/Nyheim Hines, Indianapolis Colts- Mack missed week one and we still have no clarity on whether he will play week two. With the way the Colts running game looked last Sunday, Mack should be able to come in there and grab lead back duties. He is just better than any of the guys they currently have on their depth chart. Hines caught seven of nine targets for only 33 yards but in PPR scoring that netted you 12.2 points. He also rushed five times for 19 yards. If Mack can’t go this weekend, you could give Hines a look going up against a beatable Washington defense where game script should allow for good passing numbers.

Wide Receivers

Ted Ginn Jr., New Orleans Saints– We know what Ginn is. In his twelfth season, he is a boom or bust big-play dependent player. The Saints offense is just too good and he is operating as the #2 receiver in a high octane offense. What is even better is that he gets to go against Cleveland at home in the Super Dome. He carries upside as a flex option after going 5/68/1 on six targets.

Brandon Marshall, Seattle Seahawks– Remember him? Before you dismiss me totally look at the numbers last weekend. He got three catches for 46 yards and a touchdown on six targets. Doug Baldwin is out and Russell Wilson was looking for Marshall the most on Sunday. He had more chances to score and got called for pass interference. Had he cashed in on a few more of those chances he would not be in my waiver wire article because he would be universally owned. Whatever Brandon Marshall has done to you in the past, go pick him up and enjoy his safe WR2/WR3 floor while Baldwin is sidelined.

Chris Godwin/Desean Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers– Godwin had a nice line on Sunday going 3/41/1 but Jackson had a huge day going 5/146/2. Jackson suffered a concussion and Yahoo! Sports reported that he is also battling a shoulder injury. Jackson looks unlikely to go on Sunday so Godwin will look to improve on those numbers and will soak up D-Jacks targets. Philly is a tough matchup but after that beatdown of the Saints last weekend Tampa Bay could surprise with Fitzmagic under center. Keep an eye on Jackson’s health in these next few weeks he could be a difference maker in a couple weeks.

Quincy Enunwa, New York Jets– The Jets suddenly have hope for the future and maybe this current season. Quarterback Sam Darnold looks like a stud and is only going to get better. Enunwa became Darnolds favorite target operating as a hybrid tight end/wide receiver. Whenever a player gobbles up almost half the targets of an offense he needs to be 100% owned, even if it only one game. He finished with a line if 6/63/1 on a whopping ten targets. Enunwa looks to be Darnold’s security blanket over the middle and the return of Jermaine Kearse should not eat into that role. The Jets play Miami who held the Titans offense in check and forced three turnovers.

Tight Ends

O.J. Howard, Tampa Bay Buccaners– The Bucs offense erupted for 48 points on Sunday and surprisingly Howard had a productive game. He went 2/54 and most importantly outsnapped Cameron Brate 43-24. His two catches went for 35 yards and 19 yards so it is a positive sign that they are targeting him down the field. With Delaine Walker and Greg Olsen going down, Howard is a guy you should take a look at.

Jonnu Smith, Tennessee Titans- I hate season-ending injuries in week one. Not only is it unfortunate for the player in real-life but it can really set you back in fantasy as well. With Delaine Walker going down the next man up is Jonnu Smith. This is a dart throw because there is not a lot of game film on Smith but he was a third round pick in 2017. Last season he had 18 receptions for 185 yards so it is not like this is a scrub coming in. He has showed promise and skill and caught a touchdown from Mariota in the preseason.

Ricky Seals-Jones, Arizona Cardinals– To be honest this is another dart throw because he did not look particularly impressive on Sunday. It was not entirely his fault because Sam Bradford was not accurate at all and looked like a guy getting ready to be benched. He had three catches for only 19 yards but still saw six targets so at least they are looking his way. The Rams provide a very favorable matchup as Jared Cook burned them for nearly 200 yards. Their corners are so good, teams will continue to avoid them as much as possible and target the middle of the field. You could do worse than Seals-Jones if you’re looking for tight end help.
