The Cowboys gave us the business yesterday. The score said 28-17, but it wasn’t that close of a contest. This team has some pretty annoying habits that I’m about to rap to y’all right now

1) Penalties

  Man all these penalties are killing us slowly.  I can put up with physical penalties. I can live with pass interference calls. These pre-snap penalties though.. miss me with that stuff. How many times was the offense driving down the field and false starts and delay of game calls stalled all the momentum? Tony Romo called us out on the broadcast for being the most penalized team in the league, and what do you think happened after that? Literally five seconds later we get hit with a delay of game. Brutal.

2) No pressure

  This team didn’t touch Dak at all. He could’ve had a tea party in the pocket. He was living the life back there. No pressure whatsoever. I don’t know if Justin Houston is hurt but he was a non factor. Dee Ford is out. Tamba looked fresh when he was on the field, but didn’t play enough snaps. Bob Sutton can’t expect us to get pressure in our base defense can he? Try doing what every other team in the NFL does. BLITZ THE FREAKING QUARTERBACK! The secondary is getting beat downfield anyway, why not bring extra pressure. Corner blitzes, linebacker blitzes, do some stunts, DO SOMETHING. This has to change if the Chiefs are going to make any noise in the playoffs.

3) RUN THE FOOTBALL

  Kareem Hunt is a special talent. He’s been running hard all year. He almost never goes down on the first hit. He leads the NFL in rushing. My man only had nine carries for the whole game. That is inexcusable. We have our own version of Zeke Elliot and we didn’t give him the football nearly enough. The one drive we did feed Hunt was the start of the second half. He ended up with 29 of his 37 yards on that drive and a long run of 19 yards. Guess what? We scored a touchdown on that drive. Amazing. This offense needs balance. As good as Alex Smith has been this year he’s not elite by himself. He can’t win you a game throwing 34 times with no running game. That’s on Andy Reid. He’s gotta give Hunt the football and make this team more balanced.
